- Middlesbrough is half an hour from Darlington Station, which operates direct services to London and Edinburgh. The Transpennine Express runs trains between Middlesbrough and Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester, Manchester Airport and Liverpool. We live approximately 10 minutes away (by car) from Middlesbrough Train Station which has a reliable taxi rank/service located at both of its exit's. A 5 minute walk into Middlesbrough town centre itself will take you to the central bus station which is very well sign- posted to get to. N/B we will not under any circumstances place a cat/kitten on a train unsupervised.
More on the National Rail website:
- Durham Tees Valley Airport is one of the best-known airports in the North of England, serving over
670,000 passengers in 2008. Situated just 10 miles west of Middlesbrough, Durham Tees Valley Airport offers flights to a wide variety of destinations across the UK and Europe.
More on the Durham Tees Valley Airport website:
That whilst UK Airport's ''Heathrow'' and ''Gatwick'' permit animals to be imported and exported into and out of this country through the ''Pet Passport Scheme'', all other UK airports including the latter do not allow the transportation of any animal on a plane either ''with an owner'' or in a ''storage hold'' within this country.
So for example, if wanting to fly up from London to view/collect a kitten from us - you would need to arrange
alternative transport for the return journey home i.e. train/coach.
